Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, public pools, and childcare facilities
- Investigate public health complaints and enforce regulatory standards
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate compliance records
- Educate business owners and community members on health regulations
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams during public health emergencies
- Testify as an expert witness in regulatory violation hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of environmental health inspection experience
- Valid Nevada Public Health Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Strong knowledge of FDA Food Code and Nevada NAC regulations
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends for emergency responses
- Clean driving record and valid Nevada driver's license
