Responsibilities
- Lead System Architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions for state agencies.
- Security Compliance: Ensure all development practices adhere to strict New York State cybersecurity standards and federal regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA).
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and foster a collaborative agile environment.
- Technical Innovation: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (Cloud, AI, APIs) to modernize legacy systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, business analysts, and external vendors to deliver projects on time.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation, API specs, and deployment guides.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of professional software development experience, preferably in the government or financial sector.
- Tech Stack: Proficiency in Java, C#, .NET Core, or Python. Experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js is a plus.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Database Skills: Expertise in SQL (T-SQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Clearance: Ability to pass a background investigation and obtain a government security clearance.
