Responsibilities
- Network Security: Design and implement robust security protocols to protect sensitive federal data against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate security weaknesses in real-time.
- Compliance: Ensure all IT operations adhere to strict federal standards, including FISMA, NIST, and HIPAA regulations.
- System Administration: Oversee the maintenance, patching, and upgrades of servers, firewalls, and network infrastructure.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and response to cybersecurity incidents, minimizing downtime and data loss.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on complex IT infrastructure challenges.
Qualifications
- Clearance: Must possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance (or be willing to undergo processing).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations, cybersecurity, or network engineering within the government or defense sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), VPNs, and firewall management.
- Tools: Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to executive leadership.
