Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex government IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues to ensure 99.9% uptime for critical public services.
- Enforce strict cybersecurity protocols and data privacy compliance in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Lead and mentor junior IT staff, conducting technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Perform regular system audits and upgrades to ensure hardware and software meet evolving security standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to deliver technology solutions that improve municipal efficiency.
- Respond to emergency outages and implement disaster recovery procedures as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Deep knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in urgent situations.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a government background check and security clearance.
