Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and security of the city's on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and monitor complex IT systems to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and resolve system bottlenecks efficiently.
- Manage user access, authentication, and directory services (Active Directory) with a focus on cybersecurity best practices.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize hardware and software resources.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff and departmental end-users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in systems administration within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or MCSA are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, urgent hiring environment.
