Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting of the state’s network infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Implement and manage security protocols and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Provide advanced technical support and guidance to junior staff and end-users across various state departments.
- Monitor system performance and capacity to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to protect against cyber threats.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration within a large-scale enterprise or government environment.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) are strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V).
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
