Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the state-wide network infrastructure to ensure 99.9% uptime and optimal performance.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data from cyber threats.
- Collaborate with department heads to design and deploy scalable IT solutions that improve operational efficiency.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for internal staff, resolving complex hardware and software issues promptly.
- Conduct regular system audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, security policies, and system updates.
- Train junior staff and participate in the development of IT best practices for the agency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, cloud services (Azure/AWS), and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with government compliance standards (e.g., FISMA) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
