Responsibilities
- Review and process incoming pension applications and retirement benefit requests with high accuracy.
- Verify eligibility criteria against NY State regulations and internal databases.
- Handle sensitive inquiries from retirees and their families regarding pension status and payments.
- Ensure all data is entered correctly into the state pension management system.
- Collaborate with the HR team to resolve discrepancies in employee benefit records.
- Prepare reports for state auditors and compliance officers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in government administration, benefits processing, or customer service.
- Familiarity with New York State retirement systems (e.g., NYSLRS) is a plus.
- Must be available and willing to work rotating night shifts.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office and government database software.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
