Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan benefits including enrollment, distributions, and compliance with ERISA and IRS regulations
- Manage participant inquiries and resolve complex retirement benefit calculations
- Conduct annual audits and ensure accurate record-keeping for 5,000+ participants
- Collaborate with finance and HR teams on retirement plan strategy and policy updates
- Prepare regulatory filings and maintain compliance with government pension standards
- Develop educational materials for employees transitioning to retirement
- Oversee plan investments and vendor relationships in coordination with finance department
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience in government or regulated sector
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Nevada public pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, FIS)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Pension Fund Manager (PFM) designation required
- Experience with multi-employer pension plans and collective bargaining agreements
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail in financial calculations
- Strong communication abilities for explaining complex retirement concepts to diverse audiences
