Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of public infrastructure projects (roads, utilities, drainage)
- Verify compliance with city codes, blueprints, and safety regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and violation notices
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen complaints and resolve code enforcement issues
- Train junior inspectors on municipal standards and procedures
- Maintain accurate digital and physical project documentation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction inspection experience in public works
- Valid Florida Inspector Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Code and municipal regulations
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection databases
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and stand for extended periods
