Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based policies addressing urban regeneration, social equity, and sustainable development
- Lead cross-departmental projects and stakeholder engagement with government bodies, NGOs, and community groups
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on complex socio-economic issues affecting Manchester
- Prepare high-impact policy briefings and reports for senior leadership and elected officials
- Monitor legislative changes and assess implications for local governance frameworks
- Manage policy implementation timelines and evaluate outcomes using KPIs
- Represent the council at national forums and policy development committees
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in local/central government policy development
- Proven track record in stakeholder management and public consultation processes
- Advanced analytical skills with data-driven policy experience
- Deep understanding of UK governance structures and devolution frameworks
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Right to work in the UK with security clearance eligibility
- Project management certification (PRINCE2/PMP) preferred
