Responsibilities
- Design and oversee highway/interstate improvement projects in Charlotte metropolitan area
- Conduct traffic impact studies and analyze transportation data for infrastructure planning
- Coordinate with local government agencies and private contractors on project implementation
- Ensure compliance with federal/state transportation regulations (FHWA, NCDOT standards)
- Manage project budgets and timelines for infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Lead public engagement sessions for major transportation developments
- Utilize GIS and CAD software for transportation modeling and design
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of transportation project management experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required (North Carolina or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in traffic modeling software (VISSIM, Synchro) and GIS platforms
- Demonstrated experience with FHWA and NCDOT compliance requirements
- Strong project management skills with budget oversight experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
