Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Accurately sort incoming mail and packages according to established guidelines and routing procedures.
- Operate Machinery: Safely operate letter sorting machines and other automated postal equipment.
- Load and Unload Vehicles: Physically load and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles, ensuring mail is secure.
- Deliver Mail: Traverse assigned routes on foot or by vehicle to deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to the public, answer inquiries, and resolve any delivery issues professionally.
- Maintain Safety Standards: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or a lawful permanent resident alien at the time of appointment.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license (Class C) is required for carrier positions.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
