Responsibilities
- Sort, bundle, and prepare mail and packages for delivery according to established routes and schedules.
- Load and unload trucks and conveyances, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Operate mail processing equipment such as canceling machines and barcode scanners to expedite workflow.
- Deliver mail and packages to residential and business addresses with accuracy and professionalism.
- Interact with customers to answer inquiries regarding mail delivery and resolve any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including vehicles and sorting facilities.
- Adhere to all postal safety regulations and operational procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push packages weighing up to 70 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- Good manual dexterity and visual acuity for handling various types of mail and equipment.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings.
- U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency status required.
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable to vehicle carrier position).
- Basic computer literacy and ability to operate scanning equipment.
