Responsibilities
- Lead implementation and optimization of electronic health record (EHR) systems for VA medical centers
- Collaborate with clinical teams to design technology solutions that enhance patient care workflows
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols for protected health information (PHI) systems
- Manage vendor relationships and technology procurement processes
- Develop training programs for staff on new healthcare IT systems
- Analyze system performance metrics and recommend improvements
- Ensure compliance with federal healthcare IT regulations (HIPAA, FISMA)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT systems implementation
- Federal IT certification (e.g., CIO-SP3, GSA Schedule) preferred
- Expertise in EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, or VA-specific systems)
- Strong project management skills with PMP certification
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy regulations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
