Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain facility security protocols during weekend shifts
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and surveillance to prevent contraband entry
- Implement emergency response procedures during critical incidents
- Document all security incidents and inmate behavior in digital logs
- Coordinate with weekend medical and mental health staff for inmate welfare
- Conduct controlled movement and headcounts per state regulations
- Maintain strict compliance with CDCR policies and departmental directives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Driver's License
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph
- Successfully complete Peace Officer Standards Training (POST) academy
- CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work rotating weekends with 12-hour shifts
- Proficiency in digital surveillance systems and correctional software
- Physical fitness to pass annual agility tests
