Responsibilities
- Conduct routine patrols across transit hubs and routes to deter crime and ensure passenger safety
- Respond promptly to emergency incidents and provide first aid when needed
- Enforce transit regulations and issue citations for violations
- Operate communication systems to coordinate with law enforcement and dispatch teams
- Document incidents using digital reporting systems with precision
- Collaborate with weekend transit staff to resolve operational issues
- Conduct security inspections of vehicles and facilities
Qualifications
- Must be 21+ years old and possess a valid Nebraska driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Current Nebraska Peace Officer certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Ability to work flexible weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
- Strong communication skills and de-escalation techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and incident reporting software
