Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI ethics frameworks for autonomous systems and decision-making algorithms
- Conduct bias audits and fairness assessments across machine learning models
- Advise product teams on ethical implications of AI features and deployment strategies
- Collaborate with legal to ensure compliance with emerging AI regulations (EU AI Act, US AI Bill of Rights)
- Lead stakeholder workshops to establish ethical guidelines for generative AI applications
- Publish research on AI ethics challenges in industry journals and conferences
- Mentor junior engineers on responsible AI development practices
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Philosophy, Ethics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years experience in AI governance, responsible AI, or ethics technology roles
- Deep understanding of fairness, accountability, and transparency (FAT) principles in ML
- Proficiency with bias detection tools (IBM AI Fairness 360, Google What-If Tool)
- Experience with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, NIST AI RMF)
- Published work on AI ethics or demonstrated thought leadership in the field
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse audiences
