Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the comprehensive IT strategy for the 2026 World Cup, aligning technology with organizational goals.
- Infrastructure Architecture: Design and oversee a robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure spanning all host stadiums and fan zones.
- Cybersecurity Management: Establish and enforce a zero-trust security framework to protect sensitive data and ensure 100% uptime for critical systems.
- Vendor Management: Lead negotiations and manage relationships with key technology vendors, including cloud providers, connectivity partners, and stadium integrators.
- Legacy Planning: Develop a transition plan to hand over sustainable technology solutions to local US cities and leagues post-event.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing cross-functional technology team of engineers, architects, and security experts.
Qualifications
- Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership, with at least 5 years in a C-suite or VP-level role managing multi-million dollar budgets.
- Event Tech: Demonstrated experience deploying technology for major global events (Olympics, Super Bowl, World Cup) is highly preferred.
- Cloud & Network: Deep expertise in cloud architecture (AWS/Azure), 5G network integration, and large-scale stadium Wi-Fi deployment.
- Cybersecurity: Certifications such as CISSP or CISM, with a strong understanding of risk management and compliance standards.
- Project Management: Exceptional ability to lead complex, multi-year projects with strict deadlines and high stakes.
- Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting technical concepts to executive stakeholders and the public.
