- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with open records laws
- Coordinate city council meetings, agendas, and public hearings
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official city documentation
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and vital municipal records
- Implement digital record-keeping systems for enhanced accessibility
- Collaborate with city departments to streamline administrative processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Deep knowledge of Louisiana public records laws and municipal procedures
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage high-volume documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Certification as Municipal Clerk (MMC) or similar preferred
