- Maintain official city records, ordinances, and legislative documents with meticulous accuracy
- Oversee public information requests and ensure compliance with Freedom of Information Law (FOIL)
- Manage and authenticate city council minutes, resolutions, and official publications
- Coordinate municipal elections, voter registration, and election documentation
- Serve as the custodian of the city seal and official documents
- Liaise with city agencies, elected officials, and community stakeholders
- Implement digital record-keeping systems to enhance accessibility and efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in municipal records management or government administration
- Expertise in New York State Municipal Law and FOIL regulations
- Proficiency with digital records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, M-Files)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with ability to manage complex documentation
- Valid New York State Notary Public commission
