Responsibilities
- Administer municipal elections with precision, ensuring compliance with state and federal election laws
- Manage official city records, document retention policies, and public information requests
- Prepare and certify legislative documents including ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Serve as clerk to the City Council and key advisory boards, facilitating meeting procedures
- Oversee voter registration programs and community outreach initiatives
- Lead records digitization projects and implement modern document management systems
- Advise on municipal code updates and legislative compliance matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years municipal government experience with 2+ years in clerk/records management
- California Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Expertise in election administration, public records laws (CPRA), and Robert's Rules of Order
- Advanced proficiency with document management systems and municipal software (e.g., Granicus)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex regulations for diverse audiences
- Proven project management experience implementing records modernization initiatives
