Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes with precision and archival excellence
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with Texas Public Information Act requirements
- Administer city elections, including voter registration and ballot coordination
- Prepare and certify legal documents, contracts, and municipal resolutions
- Serve as clerk for city council meetings, taking accurate minutes and maintaining procedural records
- Manage municipal licenses, permits, and business registrations
- Develop public-facing informational materials and digital record systems
- Coordinate with state agencies for regulatory compliance reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or public sector experience
- Official Texas Certified Municipal Clerk (TCMC) designation or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Deep knowledge of Texas local government codes and election procedures
- Exceptional written communication skills for legal documentation and public notices
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
- Experience leading public records compliance initiatives
