Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, including meeting minutes, resolutions, and ordinances.
- Prepare, distribute, and archive correspondence and reports for the Mayor and City Council.
- Respond to public inquiries regarding city policies, procedures, and records access in a professional and timely manner.
- Coordinate meeting schedules, prepare agendas, and take accurate meeting minutes.
- Assist in the organization and filing of legal documents, contracts, and financial reports.
- Perform general clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and proofreading documents.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government regulations regarding public records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Public Administration is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an office environment, preferably within a government or municipal setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with Records Management software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and data integrity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the public and city officials.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal government regulations regarding public records is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
