Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, and resolutions with meticulous accuracy
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and polling place coordination
- Process and certify public documents including licenses, permits, and vital records
- Serve as clerk for Common Council meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-keeping
- Implement records management systems ensuring compliance with state statutes
- Respond to public records requests and provide administrative support to city officials
- Develop public outreach initiatives to enhance civic engagement and transparency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years municipal government or public records experience
- Wisconsin Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of election procedures and open records laws
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Experience with public meeting protocols and parliamentary procedure
