Responsibilities
- Administer oaths, maintain official city records, and certify documents with legal authority
- Oversee public meeting documentation including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and compliance with open meeting laws
- Manage voter registration, elections coordination, and ballot processing
- Provide administrative support to the Board of Supervisors and city commissions
- Develop and implement record-keeping systems ensuring accessibility and security
- Lead public records requests processing with strict adherence to legal timelines
- Train staff on municipal procedures and record management protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or public sector record management
- Expert knowledge of California Public Records Act and Brown Act requirements
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities
- Professional certification as Municipal Clerk (CMC) or Records Manager (CRM) preferred
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills and customer service orientation
- Valid California driver's license
