Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with California Public Records Act
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Prepare and certify official city documents including contracts and resolutions
- Provide legislative support to City Council and advisory bodies
- Manage city records retention and destruction policies
- Coordinate public notices and legal publications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or records management experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Expert knowledge of California Public Records Act and Brown Act requirements
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities
