We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented City Clerk to support the City and County of San Francisco. As the primary custodian of official city records and a vital liaison between the public and municipal leadership, you will ensure transparency, accuracy, and continuity in our local government operations.

Responsibilities
- Record Management: Maintain, organize, and preserve official city archives, including resolutions, ordinances, contracts, and meeting minutes.
- Meeting Administration: Prepare agendas, support the scheduling of Board of Supervisors meetings, and draft accurate meeting minutes for public record.
- Public Records: Serve as the primary point of contact for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and ensure timely and accurate responses.
- Elections Support: Coordinate and assist with municipal elections, including voter registration drives and election-related filings.
- Policy Liaison: Interpret and apply the City Charter, local codes, and state regulations to ensure compliance across all city departments.
- Office Operations: Manage the daily operations of the City Clerk’s office, including supervising staff, managing budgets, and overseeing procurement of office supplies.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal government, public administration, or a related administrative role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with document management systems (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of California Government Codes, local municipal codes, and public record laws.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Interpersonal: Ability to interact professionally with elected officials, staff, and the general public.
