Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance of all official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Administer municipal elections, voter registration, and public records requests
- Provide administrative support to City Council and various city boards
- Manage business licensing, permits, and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate public notices, legal publications, and ceremonial functions
- Implement records retention policies and digital archiving systems
- Act as liaison between public and government officials
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in municipal government or records management
- Illinois Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Proficiency in records management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Deep understanding of open meeting laws and election procedures
