Responsibilities
- Oversee all municipal records management, including document preservation and public information requests
- Administer city elections, including ballot preparation, polling place coordination, and certification
- Prepare and maintain official City Council meeting minutes, agendas, and legislative documentation
- Manage municipal code updates, ordinances, and legislative tracking systems
- Serve as filing officer for official city documents and records retention compliance
- Coordinate with city departments and external agencies on public record requests
- Implement records digitization and electronic document management systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or public sector experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems and document automation
- Thorough knowledge of California election laws and Brown Act requirements
- Exceptional written communication skills for legislative documentation
- Experience managing public records requests and compliance with CPRA
- Project management skills for election and records digitization initiatives
