Job Description
The City of Albuquerque is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven professional to join our team as a City Clerk. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the custodian of records for the City, ensuring transparency and accuracy in our public documentation. You will also play a key role in supporting the City Council and other municipal boards by managing meeting logistics and communications. Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the official records of the City, including ordinances, resolutions, and council minutes.
- Prepare, distribute, and archive meeting agendas, packets, and reports for the City Council and various boards.
- Process public records requests in accordance with New Mexico state laws.
- Provide high-level customer service to citizens, vendors, and city staff regarding administrative processes.
- Supervise and train office staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to protocols.
- Coordinate logistics for public meetings, including room setup and technology support.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in municipal or government administration.
- Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft clear correspondence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and municipal software systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
