Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official city records, archives, and meeting minutes in compliance with state laws.
- Coordinate and manage the agenda for City Council, Board of Adjustment, and Commission meetings.
- Act as the primary point of contact for public information requests and official correspondence.
- Ensure strict adherence to the Texas Open Records Act (TORA) and municipal regulations.
- Supervise the administrative staff within the clerk's office and manage office workflow.
- Prepare and distribute legal notices, ordinances, and resolutions to the public and media.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in municipal government, administrative support, or records management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Records Management Software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Texas Open Meetings and Open Records laws.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with elected officials, staff, and the public.
