As a City Clerk, you will serve as the backbone of municipal operations, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in our official records and public meetings.
Responsibilities
- Record Management: Maintain and organize official city records, including minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and contracts, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
- Meeting Administration: Prepare and distribute agendas for City Council and Board meetings; take and publish accurate minutes of proceedings.
- Public Information: Serve as the primary point of contact for public inquiries regarding city policies, meeting schedules, and open records requests.
- Election Support: Assist in the coordination and administration of local elections, including polling place setup and voter registration drives.
- Correspondence: Draft, proofread, and distribute internal and external correspondence to ensure clear and professional communication.
- File Maintenance: Implement and maintain digital and physical filing systems to ensure quick and secure retrieval of information.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in a government or corporate environment is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database management software.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to review documents for accuracy and compliance with strict regulations.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders and the public.
- Integrity: Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion and ethical standards.
