Responsibilities
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized files of city ordinances, resolutions, minutes, and official documents.
- Public Assistance: Greet visitors, answer phones, and provide information regarding city services, policies, and procedures.
- Data Entry: Process applications, permits, and forms with high accuracy using various computer software systems.
- Meeting Support: Prepare meeting packets, take official minutes during City Council and Board meetings, and distribute materials.
- Correspondence: Draft, proofread, and send routine correspondence and notices to citizens and departments.
- Archives Management: Retrieve and organize historical records and assist with the digitization of city documents.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred but not mandatory.
- Computer Skills: Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Integrity: Ability to maintain confidential information and adhere to strict ethical standards.
- Availability: Must be able to work a standard full-time schedule, including occasional evening or weekend meetings.
