Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize official city records, including meeting minutes, ordinances, and resolutions, ensuring strict compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Assist the City Secretary and department heads with the preparation of meeting agendas, official reports, and correspondence.
- Provide exceptional customer service to citizens, vendors, and visitors by answering inquiries and directing them to the appropriate departments.
- Process and review applications for permits, licenses, and other city services with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Utilize computer systems and databases to input data, generate reports, and maintain comprehensive electronic filing systems.
- Coordinate the distribution of official publications and maintain the City's bulletin boards and public information displays.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in office administration, customer service, or a similar administrative role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to obtain a valid Texas Driver’s License may be required depending on specific department needs.
