Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, including minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting packets.
- Process incoming correspondence, including letters, emails, and public inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Assist the public with access to public records in compliance with state and federal open records laws.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and assist in the minute-taking process for city council and board meetings.
- Oversee the daily operations of the clerk's office, including filing, archiving, and scheduling.
- Collaborate with various city departments to ensure consistent information flow and administrative support.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Business Administration, Paralegal Studies, or Public Administration preferred.
- Proven experience in administrative support, records management, or government clerical work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with records management software.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with the public and elected officials.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
