Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain security protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to ensure facility safety
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents and maintain accurate logs per department standards
- Enforce facility rules and report behavioral concerns
- Collaborate with shift supervisors and law enforcement partners
- Screen visitors and incoming materials for security compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Ability to pass background check and physical fitness assessment
- Basic computer skills for reporting systems
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
