Responsibilities
- Supervise inmate activities and enforce facility security protocols during night shifts
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to maintain institutional order
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Monitor surveillance systems and document security breaches in detailed reports
- Escort inmates within facilities and during transfers using restraint procedures
- Implement rehabilitation programs and behavioral modification strategies
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- U.S. citizenship and minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Basic First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Ability to work independently in high-stress night environments
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
