Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security rounds and perimeter checks
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and behavioral disturbances
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation
- Operate detention systems including control panels and surveillance equipment
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
- Implement emergency procedures including evacuation and lockdown protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and physical fitness assessment
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours with minimal supervision
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement highly valued
