Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities during night hours to ensure facility security
- Conduct regular patrols, headcounts, and security inspections
- Respond to emergencies, medical incidents, and behavioral crises with de-escalation techniques
- Maintain detailed incident reports and compliance documentation
- Operate security systems including control panels and surveillance equipment
- Coordinate with law enforcement and medical staff during critical situations
- Enforce facility policies and rehabilitation programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Minimum 2 years security/corrections or military experience
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and psychological evaluation
- CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
- Excellent conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Physical fitness to meet job demands including defensive tactics training
