Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to maintain security and order
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to ensure compliance with protocols
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document daily logs, incident reports, and disciplinary actions accurately
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages to prevent contraband entry
- Participate in inmate rehabilitation programs and educational initiatives
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during transfers and emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Valid Florida Driver's License and clean driving record
- Successfully pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays consistently
- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Experience in law enforcement, security, or corrections preferred
- U.S. citizenship and Florida residency required
