Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to ensure security
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts in assigned areas
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques
- Document daily occurrences and maintain accurate records
- Screen visitors and packages according to department protocols
- Transport inmates within the facility and to court appearances
- Collaborate with law enforcement and healthcare professionals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Completion of certified correctional officer training program
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Sat/Sun)
- Basic CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
