As a weekend shift officer, you'll work a rotating schedule (Friday-Saturday-Sunday) with premium shift differential pay. This position provides unparalleled career growth opportunities within Arizona's state government system.
Responsibilities
- Maintain security protocols and conduct regular inmate counts and surveillance
- Enforce facility rules and manage inmate behavior through de-escalation techniques
- Perform routine searches of facilities, inmates, and property
- Document incidents and maintain detailed daily activity reports
- Respond to emergencies including medical situations, disturbances, and security breaches
- Transport inmates between facilities and court appearances
- Collaborate with healthcare, counseling, and rehabilitation staff
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Arizona Driver's License
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
- Completion of Arizona POST Corrections Academy or willingness to attend
- Basic First Aid/CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to work weekends and holidays on rotating schedule
- Physical fitness to pass agility test (including lifting 50+ lbs)
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
