Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to ensure safety and security
- Conduct regular rounds and headcounts to maintain control of correctional areas
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques and protocol compliance
- Document daily operations and incident reports with precision and confidentiality
- Screen visitors and incoming packages according to departmental policies
- Participate in training programs for security procedures and crisis management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Previous security or military experience preferred
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Must be U.S. citizen and at least 21 years old
