Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to ensure safety and security
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts in correctional settings
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents and maintain accurate reports per state protocols
- Screen visitors and packages according to department guidelines
- Assist in rehabilitation programs and inmate counseling sessions
- Collaborate with law enforcement and medical staff during emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts and holidays
- Physical fitness to handle facility operations and emergencies
