Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities in correctional facilities
- Conduct security rounds and headcounts per department protocols
- Respond to emergencies and enforce institutional rules
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation
- Screen visitors and packages for contraband
- Operate security systems and control room equipment
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid New York State driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and clean criminal background
- Ability to pass physical fitness and psychological exams
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement preferred
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
