Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the county's local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and related hardware and software systems.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local data security and privacy regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to county staff regarding hardware, software, and network usage.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to procure and install new technology solutions.
- Conduct regular system audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server environments, Active Directory, and Windows 10/11.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various county facilities as needed.
