Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate court records, filings, and documentation in compliance with legal standards
- Assist public and legal professionals with document retrieval, case inquiries, and procedural guidance
- Process and distribute official court notices, summonses, and judgments
- Coordinate courtroom scheduling and support judicial proceedings with precise documentation
- Utilize case management software to update and track case statuses efficiently
- Verify legal documents for completeness and adherence to filing requirements
- Provide exceptional customer service to diverse stakeholders including attorneys, litigants, and government officials
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or college coursework preferred
- Minimum 2 years of clerical or administrative experience in a legal/government setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems
- Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain complex records accurately
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with judicial staff and the public
- Knowledge of Texas court procedures and legal terminology
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency required due to Laredo's diverse community
