Responsibilities
- Accurately file, index, and maintain court records in compliance with legal standards
- Process civil, criminal, and probate documents with precision and confidentiality
- Provide in-person and telephone assistance to attorneys, litigants, and the public
- Manage court fee collections and financial transactions using judicial software
- Coordinate with judges, attorneys, and law enforcement for calendaring and scheduling
- Prepare official court orders, summonses, and legal correspondence
- Train and mentor new clerks on department procedures and protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years clerical or administrative experience in legal/government setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and court record management systems
- Knowledge of Kentucky Revised Statutes and court procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail with 99%+ accuracy in document processing
- Strong interpersonal skills for high-stakes public interactions
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
- Valid Kentucky driver's license for occasional off-site duties
