Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts to identify potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities
- Implement and maintain advanced security controls for federal networks and systems
- Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to strengthen defenses
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation efforts
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards including NIST and FISMA
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into IT projects
- Provide cybersecurity training and guidance to department staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security
- Active CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Expertise in security tools: SIEM platforms, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Knowledge of federal security frameworks (NIST, FISMA, CMMC)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- Strong analytical skills with experience in threat intelligence analysis
